Local pub reopens after a transformational £250,000 investment
The Little Ship, Portland is reopening this week following a £250,000 investment from leading community pub company Admiral Taverns which has seen the pub undergo a transformational refurbishment.
Its ‘anchors away’ on Friday 30th March with the pub’s official launch party starting at 6pm. Guests will have a chance to sample a range of dishes which will be featured on the pubs new menu, as well as a selection of specialty rums on offer.
Experienced licensee Kevin Moore took over the Little Ship in 2017 and brings 20 years of industry experience to the pub. With family in the area Kevin is looking to re-establish the pub as a local community hub with a warm and friendly environment. He is also keen to showcase the pubs fantastic beer garden and their very own skittle alley – one of the few left in the area, giving customers a chance to join in with this traditional pub game.
The pub will be championing rum, with a selection of specialty rums available for customers to sample including local rums produced in the area. The Ship will also be offering a tasty new food menu with pub classics such as steak and homemade burgers and a broad selection or real ales.
Commentating on the reopening, Kevin Moore, licensee at the Little Ship said:
“The Little Ship is in a great location backing on to Chesil beach which forms part of The World Heritage Site “The Jurassic Coast” and I am keen to ensure it is loved by locals once again. The refurbishment has been a fantastic opportunity to turn this community pub into a warm and friendly environment where people can bring their families and enjoy a great day out. I’m really looking forward to the opening night to show off this lovely pub at its best.”
