ADMIRAL TAVERNS LAUNCHES NEW RECRUITMENT PORTAL TO MAKE TAKING ON A PUB SIMPLER

Admiral Taverns, the UK’s leading community pub group, with over 1,420 pubs across the UK, is transforming its recruitment process with the launch of a brand-new, user-friendly applicant portal designed for individuals looking to take on a pub. The portal revolutionises how applicants apply and interact with Admiral, making it easier than ever to connect the right person with the right pub. 

 

Designed specifically for new applicants as they embark on the journey of taking on a pub, the portal simplifies the entire recruitment process. Interested individuals or couples will be offered a tailored experience with the ability to search for a pub based on their specific preferences, from geography and financial contribution, to pub style. Applicants will be able to submit an online application form as well as their business plans and monitor the status of their application in real-time. The portal also provides comprehensive resources detailing the support available from Admiral, along with guidance on the steps required to successfully run their own pub. 

 

The platform’s launch coincides with one of the busiest times of the year for recruitment, as many individuals actively seek new opportunities in the month of January. Research shows that 75% of employees explore new career options during January, with activity on company profiles on Glassdoor rising by an average of 55%*. Over the past two years, Admiral Taverns has seen a 50% increase in applicants during January, demonstrating a continued level of support for community pubs across the UK.

Accessible 24/7, applicants can submit applications at their own convenience. The platform also automatically notifies applicants when new pub opportunities are added to the website, ensuring greater communication and efficiency. 

 

Following the recruitment process, Admiral Taverns offers all its publicans extensive knowledge and support to help maximise a pub’s potential, from operations and marketing, to property and training. The Group has a “seven steps to sales success” two-day training course which includes everything from building a retail offer to finances and the Pubs Code. Where possible, within its award-winning community wet-led division, Proper Pubs – which operates more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales – it places potential operators with an existing operator in another pub to help them train and gain the knowledge before going onto run their own pub.
